Rubus Arcticus Award 2005

One of Swedens most significant cutural award is called Rubus Arcticus. It is offered by the County Council of Norrbotten every year to 4 persons with a cultural connection to Norrbotten within the fields of art, literature, music, dance or theatre.

This year 2005 Monica L Edmondson was one of the four awarded and the jury of the County Council of Norrbotten's motivation is:

Monica L Edmondson, Tärnaby, with roots in Gällivare, has used glass to search for a way to express the northern winter and the Sami culture. She has given the medium of glass new ways of expression, vigour and vitality. Monica is breaking boundaries through her tracks in a winter space -  tracks which help the viewer to, through art glass, explore new angles of incidence.
